- NEW LEXINGTON: Delmar Milton Danison, 81, of New Lexington, Ohio died Sunday, December 18, 2011 at Genesis-Good Samaritan Medical Center ER in Zanesville, Ohio.
Born May 5, 1930 in McLuney, Ohio to the late Mike and Mary Penrod Danison.
Delmar would grow up to be a very influential political figure. He held office as Mayor of New Lexington from 1980 to 1991 and 1996 to 2000; he also served on New Lexington City Council since 2000.
Delmar was an outdoorsman; he loved to hunt and spent many long hours in the woods. Many people in the city knew and loved Delmar, he drove through the city day after day waving at what seemed like every passing car. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends as well as the entire community.
Survived by his wife, Edna King Danison of the home; sons, Jeff Danison and Brian Danison; grandchildren, Ty (Amanda) Danison, Alicia (Josh) Warthman, Rachel Danison and Kristen Danison; great-grandchildren, Emmie and Carter Danison and Brice Warthman; sister, Sandra (Ed) Barringer and brother, Arthur (Clair) Danison.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Roberts Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
