- Edgar Burton Proctor, 86, died suddenly Saturday morning at 4 o'clock at the home of his son, Hamilton Proctor, Hammersley, Fork, with whom he resided. Death was caused by arterio sclerosis. .
Mr. Proctor was born October 29, 1855 in a house just across the road from the house where his death took place. He left home in his youth and was employed in various places by the B.R. & P railroad as a brakeman. He returned to Hammersley Fork walked the pipe line for the National Transit Company in that section. He left their employe to conduct a store at Hammersely Fork retiring from business about 15 years ago.
One other son, Fred Proctor, survives.
There was a large attendance of neighbors and friends at the funeral with a short service at the home of his son Hamilton Proctor, at 2 o'clock Monday afternoon and at the Leidy Methodist Church at 2:30 o'clock with the Rev. J. V. Adams, pastor of the First Methodist Church, Renovo, officiating. There was a large number of floral offering. Burial was made in Maple Grove Cemetery at Hammersley Fork.
The pall bearers were Wilbur Proctor, Charles Cross, George Cross, William McCoy, Raymond Snyder, and Isaac Keiley.
