- Helen Irene Cavinee 88 of Crooksville went home to be with the lord on Saturday September 4, 2010 at her residence.
Helen was born in New Straitsville on July 18, 1922 to the late Newton and Bertha Gaston Auker. She was a life long resident of Crooksville, a graduate of Crooksville High School, and the last charter member of Crooksville Free Methodist Church. She has received numerous awards for her loving care as a foster mother of 76 children. She most recently attended Oakfield Wesleyan Church. Helen was a wonderful mother.
She is survived by a son Mark (Diana) Cavinee of Akron, two daughters Rachel (Jeff) Brooks of Crooksville and Rebecca (Charles) Helber of Logan, a special niece June (Bob) Hughes of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, seven grandchildren Cindy Orley, Michelle Rouzzo, Brian Cavinee, Jennifer Helber, Erika Helber, Matthew Brooks, and Joshua Brooks. Five great grandchildren CalvinOrley, Malia Orley, Andrew Cavinee, Matthew Cavinee, and Gracie Ruzzo.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband Jesse Paul Cavinee, a son Theron Paul Cavinee, four brothers Edward, Walter, James, and Harold Auker, and three sisters Lena, Clara, and Lucille.
Calling hours will be Tuesday September 7 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at THE CROOKSVILLE CHAPEL OF THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 207 BURLEY STREET CROOKSVILLE. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday with visitation starting at 10 am at The Oakfield Wesleyan Church 3583 St Rt 13 Oakfield with Pastor Dan Hinkle officiating. Burial will follow in Crooksville Cemetery.
