- Terry Layne Confer June 30, 1950 September 4, 2016 Terry Layne Confer passed away Sunday at the age of 66. Born in Ligonier, to Vivian Confer and the late Paul Confer, Terry made Howard, his lifelong home. He graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School in 1968, and Penn State University in 1973, and worked for the Department of Environmental Protection for over thirty years before his retirement. Terry was an avid outdoorsman and golfer and coached youth baseball in Howard for several years. He is survived by his his wife, Lanfen; his mother, Vivian; his brothers, Leland and Paul and his wife Victoria; his sons, Ryan and Shayne and their wives, Keary and Kelly; and his grandsons, Elijah and Haydn. Friends and family will be received at the United Methodist Church in Howard on Thursday, September 8, 2016, from 10:00 a.m. until the beginning of the memorial service at noon.
