Mr. and Mrs. James A. Bonham observed their 50th wedding anniversary on September 23 with an open house celebration at their home in Benton. Mr. and Mrs. Bonham were married September 23, 1888 by Rev. G.W. Sterigero. Four children were born to this union, all of whom are living, as follows: Mrs. Ethel Harrison, of Hazleton; Mrs. Ivah Downing, Mrs. Florence Larish and George R. Bonham, all of Benton. There are eleven grandchildren. Mr. Bonham, before marriage was Edith Inez Hirlinger, and the guest of honor was Mrs. Huldah S. Hirlinger, Mrs. Bonham's mother, who observed her 88th birthday last January. The house was decorated with a profusion of flowers. A varied program was enjoyed, including folk songs of yester-year. In the evening, the couple were treated to an old-fashioned drumming. There was a shower of beautiful gifts - including money, china, linen, cut-glass and a purse of fifty dollars. A buffet luncheon was served to the following guests: Mrs. Huldah S. Richard "Dick" Allison, 75, of Marsh Creek died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, at Centre Community Hospital.

Born April 19, 1926, in Axemann, he was a son of the late Ray and Mary Loder Allison.

On April 27, 1945, in Howard, he married Charlotte L. Woomer, who survives at home.

He was a 1944 graduate of Howard High School and held various professional certificates.

He was the purchasing manager for Gaster's Steel and was part owner of J and R Gravely. He was a maintenance supervisor of High Steel in Williamsport, retiring in 1991.

He belonged to the Pleasant Valley Brotherhood and was a participant in the Centre Community Men's Choir. He served as past district governor of the Pennsylvania Lion's Club Chapter 146. He belonged to the Howard Area Lion's Club.

He enjoyed singing, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in Marsh Creek.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Judy R. Spangler of Bellefonte; a son, Steven E. Allison of Bellefonte; two sisters, Jane Harlan of Arlington, Va., and Lois Belitsa of Northumberland; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday at W. Robert Neff Funeral Home, 837 Main St., Howard.

The Lions Club will conduct a service at 8:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, Marsh Creek Road in Bellefonte, with the Rev. Wayne Shamer officiating.

Burial will be in Schenks Cemetery in Howard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church in care of Rev. Wayne Shamer, 1216 Run ville Road, Bellefonte, PA 16823.

Markle, 84, of Bellefonte died Sunday, September 20, 2015, at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. u8232 u8232 Born February 11, 1931, in Pleasant Gap, he was the son of the late Carl and Agnes Mowery Markle. u8232 On April 28, 1951, he married the love of his life Norma Pifer who survives at home. They celebrated over 64 plus wonderful years of marriage. u8232 u8232 Sam served in the U.S. Navy for four years. His ship was sent to the Mediterranean Sea for training exercises with the NATO Allies. He was honorably discharged, and received the Good Conduct Medal and the Naval Occupation Medal. u8232 Sam earned his Bachelor's degree from Penn State. He wrestled and was on the 1957 EIWA Penn State Championship wrestling team. He later obtained his Master's degree in Secondary School Administration at Shippensburg State and his Principalship from Penn State University. Sam worked for the Bellefonte School District from 1957-1993. He was a Science teacher, a Physical Education and Health teacher, and an Assistant Principal. Sam also coached wrestling, football, and golf. He started the Bellefonte Golf Team and coached Bellefonte's first PIAA State Golf Champion. u8232 u8232 Sam had also worked at Riverside Market, Pifer Music Center, and sold Assemblies to school districts. He was an Usher and then Usher Supervisor at PSU Beaver Stadium for over fifty-four years; a PIAA Wrestling Official since 1963, refereeing over 400 matches. Sam officiated the PIAA State Championships seven times during his career. He was a Life member of Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094, Undines Fire Co., and Pleasant Gap Fire Co. He was also a member of Bellefonte American Legion Post 1600, Bellefonte Moose Kiwanis Club, Penn State Wrestling Club, Nittany Lion Wrestling Club, PSU Quarterback Club, Penn State Alumni Association and Nittany Country Club. Sam also served on the Centre County Library Board and was a Spring Township Supervisor. u8232 u8232 He was inducted into the Bellefonte Wrestling Hall of Fame, District 6 Hall of Fame (2014), and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in Stillwater, Okla. (Class of 2016). His brother-in-law, Ronald Pifer and grandson, Curtis Markle are also members of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, which makes Sam the third member of his family to be inducted. u8232 u8232 Along with his loving wife Norma, he is survived by two daughters, Susan Roberts, of Mojave, Calif. and Debra Markle Shelow (fiance Michael J. State College, Pennsylvania - Steven Michael "Steve" Dreibelbis, 68, of State College, died Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at home.
Born October 10, 1953, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late William G. and Rebecca M. Regel Dreibelbis.
He is survived by three children, Steven M. Dreibelbis and his wife Stephanie of Spring Mills, Jeremy A. Dreibelbis of State College, and Carly M. Dreibelbis and her husband Seth of Boalsburg; four siblings, Susan Foster and her husband Ray "Snook" of Pine Grove Mills, William Dreibelbis and his wife Susy of Carlisle, Craig Dreibelbis of State College, and Scott Dreibelbis and his wife Susan of Port Matilda; and two grandchildren, Makayla and Rachel.
Steve graduated from State College High School in 1971. He was a proud veteran who served in the United States Army where he decoded Vietcong morse code in Thailand during the Vietnam War. He worked as a tradesman at Corning Asahi until its closure in 2003 and then went on to earn his advanced science degree in nursing in 2006. He worked as a registered nurse at Mount Nittany Medical Center until retirement.
He was a member of VFW 5825 in Pine Grove Mills and AL 245 in State College. He adored his dog Bear and his cat Bob and they never left his side. He enjoyed seeing live music, hunting, fishing, feeding wildlifeâ€"specifically crows and his "pet" trout at his home on Spring Creek. He loved playing Jeopardy, poker and pinochle, and hatching and raising Bobwhite Quail. Steve had a fierce work ethic and would drop anything to help a friend or his children.
Visitation will be 2-4 pm, Sunday, June 26, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Memorial service will be 12 pm, Monday, June 27, 2022 at Koch Funeral Home with Celebrant Jackie Naginey Hook officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.

96 Christopher M. Hirlinger passed away suddenly on September 5, 2019 at the age of 54. He was born in St. Louis, MO on December 27, 1964 to Kenneth A. and Jacqueline (Dillree) Hirlinger.\b3 He was predeceased by his father, his brother, Kenneth S. Hirlinger, his Hirlinger and Dillree grandparents, and his Hirlinger uncles.\b3 Chris is lovingly remembered by his mother, Jacqueline Wiseman of Godfrey, IL, his sister, Susan (James) Elliott, niece, Jennifer Elliott, nephew, Jordan Elliott, sister-in-law, Laura (Ken) Hirlinger, niece, Nina Berenato and many Hirlinger, Sickles, and Dillree cousins all of St. Louis and beyond. He is also survived by his Poker Pals, and many close friends from Holy Redeemer Grade School, especially Neil Curtin and John Consiglio, and from Christian Brothers College, and Meramec Community College.\b3 A friend said, “Itis hard to say goodbye to a friend, especially one you have known since childhood and shared a lot of memories and stories from where you grew up (in Webster Groves). November 8, 1931 - March 28, 2022 Pennsylvania - Doris Mackey of Howard, formerly of Monument, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 28, 2022 at home. was born on November 8, 1931 to James and Isabelle Confer. August 25, 1956, she married Dean "Tracy" Mackey, Sr. who preceded her in death on July 27, 1995. The two of them had 6 children together: a daughter, Karen (William) Kyle, and sons: Dean, Jr., Dennis (Robin), James (Tammy) and Tracy (Sherri) who survive and a son, Richard who preceded them in death on February 23, 1969 at the age of 5. grandchildren were the light of her life. Her legacy will live on through Wesley and Leslie Lomison, Sydney Hunt, Dena Bower and Brad, Ashley, Tyler, Katelyn, Tiffany and Kara Mackey as well as her great grandchildren: Kaleb and Kamdyn Lomison, Kaidyn Rogers and Theo and Willow Hester. was born the 17th of 21 children. One brother, Robert, survives in Tacoma, Washington. Her other siblings: Danny, Edith, Ella, Lester, Goldie, Taylor, Glenn, Walt, Bill, George, Ernie, Betty, Thelma, Ruth, Roberta, James, Jr., Helen, Richard and Jerry have all gone on before; and we are sure they were present for the grand reunion. love of family also extended to her pastor and family as well as her church family at the Orviston Bible Church. loved people, and she had a smile that drew people to her. 98 A leading and influential citizen of Howard, Centre County, PA. Proprietor of The Howard Handle and Spoke Company. Widely and favorably known throughout The community. During his boyhood he worked on his Family's farm. He was in The Postal Service on The Pennsylvania and Erie Railroad between Williamsport and Erie for 3 years after starting out in life for himself. For t atime he was also operator for The Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad at New Castle Junction, Lawrence County, PA. The business of which he became proprietor was organized by Shutt & Poulson in 1879. In 1893 William purchased an interest from K. G. Shutt (his brother-in-law) and served as manager.
