164 | Barbara (Beth) Elizabeth (Bittner) Bryan May 18, 1967 - January 23, 2022 Altoona, Pennsylvania - Barbara (Beth) Elizabeth (Bittner) Bryan, 54, of Altoona (originally Howard, Pa) passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at UPMC Altoona. She was born on May 18, 1967 in Lock Haven hospital, the daughter of Robert (Bob) E. Bittner and Shirley E. Confer. She married John F. Bryan who survives at home. Beth graduated from Bald Eagle Area High School class of 85. She then attended South Hills Business school. Beth was a dental office manager for Dr. Lang and Senior, Dr. Bruce Thaler, and Dr. Jim Marcelli and Dr. Axelle Wiegering. She loved people. She loved helping others. She loved giving back to her community. She remained in contact with numerous co workers throughout the years as these co workers became Beth's best friends. She followed in her mother's footsteps of crocheting baby afghans for all of the new babies welcomed into her friends' and families' lives. Oh did she love every single baby she came in contact with. A baby whisperer at heart is truly what she was. Beth acted as a support system for every person she crossed paths with. She was never afraid to "adopt" and act as whatever role was necessary for anyone that needed her love. Being a mother was her favorite thing in the whole world. Her heart was huge. She was always thinking about others and going the extra mile to make someone's day. She donated to many organizations in her community as well as complete strangers in support groups. Beth was a sufferer of Sarcoidosis. She was determined to learn something new every day. She loved research just as much as discovery. She loved meeting people with things in common as her just as much as learning from them or helping them. She found something in common with everyone she met. Her intentions were always positive. Always. She recently switched gears to work for a mental health facility, Blair Family Solutions, in 2019. No surprise that her "BFS" work family quickly turned into lifelong friends as well. No matter where or who Beth worked for, everyone loved her so much just as she loved and cared for them. You never left a conversation, friendly get together, or family function without feeling Beth's radiating love. She loved so hard. The most ever. Beth is survived by her husband of 25 years; John Bryan of Altoona, father; Robert (Bob) Bittner of Bellefonte, one daughter; Angelica Bryan of Pittsburgh, one sister; Jennifer (Michael) McCartney of Bellefonte, one sister-in-law; Shirley (Jeff) Foley of Bellefonte, mother and father-in-law; Ruth and Fred Bryan, one Aunt; Barbara (Tom) Davidson, three nieces and three nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins. Beth was preceded in death by her mother; Shirley E. Bittner on August 3, 2020, her two uncles; Richard Swope and Tory Confer, and her grandmother (nana); Virginia Confer. Beth was a family-oriented person. She let everyone know of her love for her family, specifically her husband and daughter. She always put them first. Through every bad day, sometimes they were even unaware of her bad days because that's how much she put them first. She spent so much time participating in adopting family traditions such as canning and freezing food each year with her husband, John. Family was everything to Beth. She religiously visited her mother, Shirley in the Centre Crest nursing home despite the hour car ride to and from each trip. Distance was nothing to her, quality time spent with loved ones was everything. She religiously talked to her dad, Bob on the phone every. single. night. until the late late hours. Sometimes venting, other times just listening. It didn't matter which was needed that day because Beth's voice was enough to never want to stop the conversation. She had the most comforting and reassuring voice no matter what the situation called for. Beth was a strong woman, raised by the strongest of women. She was strong in her faith. She was never afraid to offer a prayer for anyone. A complete stranger. She even taught Sunday school class for many years in her young adulthood. Beth will endlessly be loved and missed by her husband and daughter as well as all family and friends. Family and friends will be received from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, January 28, 2022 at Howard United Methodist Church, 144 Main Street, Howard, Pa. Funeral services will be held the next day, 11:00am Saturday, January 29, 2022 at Howard United Methodist Church, 144 Main Street, Howard, Pa with Pastor Craig Rose officiating. Cremation and/or burial will be at the family's convenience. | Bittner, Barbara Elizabeth (I7108)

193 | BIRTH: date derived from obit. Death date given and age in years, months and days Article in the Democratic Watchman 26 Oct 1883 DEATH OF THE VENERABLE ROBERT HALL. - This aged and excellent man died in Union township, this count on the 10th of the present month of October 1883, having reached the extreme age of 82 years, nine months and 16 days. An old acquaintance sends us a notice of his death, signed "C" from which we glean the following information concerning him; "The deceased was a son of Hon. John Hall, one of the first members of the legislature elected in Centre county, and was one of the first white children born in Bellefonte. A blacksmith by occupation and an excellent workman he was often employed by the proprietors of some of the largest manufactories in this section and always enjoyed the respect and esteem of his employers. The writer made his acquaintance over 58 years ago, and during that long period kept up a casual correspondence with an occasional visit, and always found him a cheerful and pleasant companion and one of the most even-tempered and conscientious men he ever met. When about 25 years of age he had the misfortune, while at work hauling saw-logs, to have an ankle crushed, which caused him continual pain and anxiety, frequently disabling him from active employment, but he still labored when able and raised a large family of sturdy sons and daughters, most of whom are settled in the immediate vicinity of the old homestead, at the mouth of Dick's Run, about a mile from Unionville. He was a constant attendant on religious services when able, and for years looked forward with a calm eye and trusting heart, for the time of his departure, in the full hope of a blessed immortality. He lived and died universally respected and lamented by a sorrowing family, his friends and neighbors, and was one of the grandest creations of the god he worshipped, "An honest man." Mr. Hall was a brother of Jesse Hall who died many years ago, and was an uncle of Mrs. Hannah Ward, Mrs. Mary Crosthwaite, Mrs. Priscilla Bell, and Mrs. Sheriff Kline, of this place. Also of Newlin Hall, Esq., and J.B. Hall, of Howard; G. W. Hall, of West Union, Iowa; John F. Hall, of Tyrone, Mrs. Rev. T. M. Barnhart, of Iowa, and of Miss Mary Jane Hall, of Unionville. | Hall, Robert (I60)
